8TH ANNUAL EST FALL SHOWCASE: Info & Registration

8th Annual EST Fall Showcase

Some groups just get it done. Alexis Ferguson (Central Dauphin (PA) 2024), Faith Walker (West York (PA) 2024), Molly Boek (Saugerties 2023), and Kaelah Carter (Shaker 2022, now Saint Rose WBB) – four scholarship-offered players – were part of a group that you wouldn’t have guessed was their first time playing together at 2021’s EST Fall Showcase at Riverfront.

The Fall Showcase is perhaps the prime example of EST’s growth from the most humble of beginnings to one of the Northeast’s most recognized & respected entities in the girls’ basketball world. The initial one-day EST event, the inaugural Fall Showcase in 2015 (held at Skidmore College) boasted 24 players. Fast forward to 2022, and it’s seen two straight years having sold out two sessions (120 athletes) in Pennsylvania…

Had to bring it back to the 570 once again. The 8th Annual EST Fall Showcase will be held for the third straight year at Riverfront Sports in Scranton, PA on Sunday, October 2. This will be a TWO SESSION EVENT, with sessions running from approximately 9:30 AM-12 PM & 12:30-3 PM. Session placement is athlete’s choice, and like registration in general, it’s taken on a first-come first-serve basis. Each session is set to be capped at 60 players.

At the heart of all EST events are competition, exposure, and development through numerous outlets. All participants will have the opportunity to showcase through an extended stretch of 3v3 play, which not only allows athletes to get in a rhythm & provide a different look, but it also maximizes “in-game reps” for all players. 3v3 play also consistently proves to be a particularly valuable evaluation tool. There will also be plenty of traditional structured 5v5 run, with rosters geared to be competitive for all participants.

Last but certainly not least, Mark Williams and the renowned Team Footprintz group – who have been integral parts of the last two Fall Showcases along with numerous other EST events in the last couple years – will be back in Scranton to coordinate & run a focused skill session for all athletes. The Footprintz group is one of the foremost voices in training & beyond in the Northeast, and the energy & attention to detail they bring to the building is unmatched. This provides a unique outlet for athletes to get reps with one of the best.

The Fall Showcase has brought players, coaches, and evaluators in from throughout the Northeast, with five states represented on the court in 2021. The EST “alumni” list that moved on to play at the collegiate level has now stretched well beyond 300, with Power 5 programs, small D3s, and everything in between represented. The one-day showcases typically bring coaches in by the dozens, and since the return to play after the shutdown, for every coach physically in the gym, there’s been another that taps into the accessible game film (all 3v3 & 5v5 action at EST events is recorded and available to access). EST aims to provide meaningful exposure in a competitive environment – in order to “showcase”, you need to be able to “show” someone. They have provided that in a major way, and October 2 will be no different!

Event days are some of my favorite days of the year, and I’m really looking forward to being back in the 570 for the Fall Showcase in 2022. Registration & payment links are at the top of the page, and a registered player list (updated daily, or at least as often as I can get to it) is posted directly below. Hope to see you in Scranton on October 2!

Brianna Barr-Buday, one of Western New York’s finest – whose 2022 list of accomplishments include several D1 offers & the HGSL 16U MVP award – made her presence felt at 2021’s Fall Showcase in Scranton.
