April’s WNY Warm-Up in Rochester… sold out with a baseline full of coaches. June’s Summer Kickoff in Albany… sold out (3 weeks in advance) with a seating section & baseline peppered with coaches.
Now it’s time to get back to Scranton.
The Fall Showcase may be the prime example of Empire State Takeover’s growth from humble beginnings to where it is in 2023 as one of the Northeast’s most recognized & respected entities in the girls’ basketball community. The inaugural Fall Showcase in 2015 – the first ever one-day EST event – featured 24 players. Since then, it grew exponentially and moved from NY’s Capital District into the NEPA region, and the 570 is set to play host of the Fall Showcase for the 4th consecutive year.
The 9th Annual EST Fall Showcase will take place at Riverfront Sports in Scranton, PA on Sunday, October 8. This will be a TWO SESSION EVENT, with sessions running from approximately 9:30 AM-12 PM & 12:30-3 PM. Session placement is athlete’s choice on first-come first-serve basis. Each session will be capped at 60 players and is open to girls in the 2024-2027 classes.

At the heart of all EST events are competition, exposure, and development through various outlets. All participants will have the opportunity to compete in an extended stretch of controlled 3v3 & 5v5 play to maximize in-game reps. Rosters & matchups will be specifically designed to be competitive for all participants. All athletes will also get focused individual reps through a dedicated small-group skill session during the event.
The EST Fall Showcase has brought in players, coaches, and evaluators from throughout the Northeast & Mid-Atlantic in recent years. The EST ‘alumni’ list that have moved on to play at all levels of college basketball has ballooned to over 450 after the matriculation of a 2023 class that includes 89 event participants set to be on collegiate rosters this season. The one-day showcases typically bring in coaches by the dozen – all non-D1 programs will be allowed to attend this event – and with all 3v3 & 5v5 game film being recorded for virtual access, the visibility for all participants is enhanced. EST aims to provide meaningful exposure in a lively, competitive environment. In order to “showcase”, you need to be able to “show” someone. Events have provided the showcase opportunity in a major way, and October 8 will be no different!
Event days are some of my favorites of the year, and I’m looking forward to being back in the 570 to end EST event season the right way with 2023’s Fall Showcase. Registration & payment links are at the top of the page, and a registered player list (updated daily or as often as I can get to it) is directly below. Hope to see you in Scranton on October 8!
